FAQ

High Voltage Roadshow is here to make the music at your celebration personalized, memorable and fun! Below are answers to some frequently asked questions. We encourage you to read them and learn more.

Still, have questions? Submit an inquiry or email. We can’t wait to get the party started.

Does the High Voltage team take song requests?

YES. Depending on the couple’s wishes. Our DJs consult with clients, prior to the wedding regarding this subject. If the couple, allows requests, we try our very best to honor this. Please keep in mind, some requests are absolutely suitable to the festivities and others are totally not.

Often, our DJs have a flow of songs ready to go and are building up for the right minute to drop a request. The main takeaway is to trust our professional instincts and give us time to prepare, we can expertly work in the request in a cool musical way you may never expect.

Lastly, if you don’t hear your song after a little while, it’s perfectly OKAY to politely remind us. At the end of the night, we want the client experience to be next level.

How do you get the crowd pumped?

There are all kinds of inspirations that our DJs use to encourage guests to flood the dance floor. Whether it’s asking friends and family to join the newlyweds for a celebratory dance-off or playing meaningful songs that connect to the celebratory mood.

We encourage this conversation about reading a crowd, building up the energy and keeping it up, High Voltage style, when booking our services. We want to engage with the audience and are always excited to share how we’ll interact with your guests and keep them on the dance floor.

Where can I find samples of your music?

While we have some similarities within our team, each of our DJs has their own styles and talents. To hear a sampling of their party rousing beats, visit our DJ bio section, where each DJ has links to their own Soundcloud and YouTube samples.

Kindly note, we do not post any of our wedding or event mixes as each event we do is personalized to each client and experience.

Can we provide our own music for the DJ to play?

You’ll be amazed at how flexible we are when it comes to music selection. Our answer for you providing us with your music is sure, but we would like to get the music file(s) in advance of the event. In doing this, please consider the audience attending your event.

Our recommendation is to provide us with a list of “must play” songs and a list of “play if possible” songs. We encourage you to discuss this further during our consultation. We are happy to expand on this.

Can we pick what music to play?

Definitely, you can pick what music to play. Simply submit a list of ten to fifteen songs in advance that you would like to hear and we will play them. This is good because it not only gives us great songs to play but also an idea of your musical tastes for your celebration(s), so we can do our best to mirror them.

Can we have a “do not play” list?

Your “do not play” list is equally important or more important than the “request list” itself.

Rest assured that if a guest requests a song that is on your “do not play” list, it will not be played. Please keep in mind that your taste in music will most likely differ from that of your guests.

Are your packages customizable?

Absolutely! At High Voltage Roadshow, we feel each event is a memorable experience. We custom tailor our packages to reflect individual client needs. We will custom create an entertainment package based on your needs and budget. Your package can include DJ, lighting, and additional services like a photo booth, musicians, singers and a variety of other entertainment options, too numerous to list. We are entertainment and event pros. Let us put our years of experience to work for your next celebration.

How close to my event should I book a DJ?

Some of the most popular dates book 18 months to two years in advance (especially during the spring and summer months when the wedding season is in full swing).

Friendly tip: If you would like to request one of our specific DJs, it is not uncommon for them to be booked two years in advance. For a wedding reception, 8-16 months is a good average time frame. However, being a multiple DJ company we are often able to handle bookings with very short notice.

The best policy is as soon as you are comfortable with your DJ company decision, you should book, especially if you have a specific DJ in mind for your event.

Do you provide a contract?

Absolutely. Our contract is straightforward and written so that you understand the terms before signing. With the contract you can be assured that there will be no hidden extra charges or surprises at your event.

The signed contract and first payment officially reserve your date. You will receive a copy with all signatures for your records. If you have any questions or concerns about the terms, we encourage you to ask.

How do I actually book a DJ?

Start by giving sending us an email or submit an online inquiry. We will book a DJ consultation and gather some additional information (all the personalization details you request) and make a DJ recommendation for your celebration.
